I can't wait to see this new Clint Eastwood movie " Gran Torino"! Grumpy Old Men meets Rambo! I think the movie is based on Tacoma Dave. Old Fart teaching a bunch of empty headed young punks some manners, Gran'pa Clint style!

Don't get me all wound up Gene. I have one final payment to my lawyer, then I can start working on my fines with earnest next month. After that I can get my voting rights (piece of cake) and gun rights (not so easy) back.

Time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin, into the future. You'll be back in the saddle soon, Trooper! The way things are going, we may have to vote with our guns anyway.

Saw the movie the other day and it was great. CLint Eastwood does not need the special effects of Hollywood to make his movies great.

He was also ex-cav in the movie, 1st Cav. Division. A very good movie.

So few movies coming out of Hollyweird are worth seeing any more. Glad to see Clint returned to his old style of movie. I too am looking forward to seeing this one. My fellow Old Farts, let's unite and teach the youngin's a thing or two, LOL

I think Clint would make an excellent old Wolverine! "Go ahead Bub, Make my day!" Oh yeah , that works.

I believe that there's an old Japanese axiom that goes "Young men should beware of an old man's wisdom and skills and an old man should be wary of a young mans youth and vitality"...me? I figure they got bombed so what the hell do THEY know??
*grin*
my money is on old age and treachery every time.

Guys, do what you can to keep yourself off the new "watchlist" that the homeland security dept. has out!
as for what this older gentleman does in his spare time? I acquired an m1 Garand recently (goes with the rest of my wee arsenal) and I practice. alot!

Awe Elliott, you bring up a real sore subject. I too was a devout follower of the home arsenal crowd, and loved to practice at every chance. With my CWP in wallet and Beretta Elite in holster, I feared to tread nowhere. My home was my castle and fortress, and you had damn well better be invited.

Then I encountered the evil 'tagger'. With spray can in hand, he completely altered my life in five minutes. I attempted to detain said subject until the police could be notified, for spray painting crap on my neighbor's cinderblock wall, but he fled with scornful laughter, leaving behind his car. So I kicked his windows out!

Wearing only tennis shoes I got some glass in my foot, so went home to pull it out. I figured he would come back and get his car eventually, be glad nothing else happened, and be out of my life. WRONG!!

Dumb ass started driving back and forth real slow in front of my house. Having been shot at a few times in the past while sitting in my house, I wasn't going to let it happen again. I armed my buddy with a 12ga. pump, and then I climbed on my roof with my Beretta and a REAL GOOD pellet rifle, determined to change this young man's intentions. I convinced myself that if he came by again I was going to pop his car and scare him off. In the dark, moving target, open sights, long shot............got him right in his steering wheel hand with a 1000fps .177cal pellet.

Punk squeeled to the cops, we both went to jail, I'm a convicted felon with no gun or voting rights now, and have a pile of receipts for over $16,000 in fines and lawyer fees.

The judge apologized for me even having to be there, and let me off as easy as he possibly could. He also made sure I understood I could get my gun rights back eventually. Other than the $12,000 for my lawyer, I had to pay court costs and the idiots doctor bill, which wasn't all that much, and $1,000 bail to get out of jail (just spent the night). I wasn't charged with shooting him. There was no mention whatsoever of a gun or shooting. It was written up as a simple 4th degree assault with minor injuries. Got me for a felony on the windows though, as it was over $250 damage. Got a year probation, but after the initial meeting with the PO, he told me to go home and don't bother coming back as there was no reason for me to be supervised. He also told me not to get rid of my guns, but to have a good friend store them for me, which I had already done. Really sucks not having one around the house though!!!

ouch!!!
I can understand how you feel. It used to be that folks that did this sort of mischief would be caught and punished...thereby disaffecting them from further mischief. Now days, it just isn't that way. Today, the victim is to blame. I would say that you DID over react a bit though..but that's me. I would have called the cops and gave them his tag number. remember..as long as they're not shooting at you you can't shoot them! :-) I guess that guy just got under your skin. It happens but I'm sad to see that it happened to you!
Good luck on getting your rights back!!

Over react? Probably. I thought I was pretty restrained, considering the number of bullet holes already in my house. I perceived a threat and I eliminated it with as little possibility of collateral damage to neighbors as possible. Cops weren't going to do squat. They rarely ever do. Been in this house 55 years and have learned that most times you're on your own for justice.

Come to find out, this guy was on the cover of a local magazine as one of the most prolific taggers in Washington State. He is now retired thanks to me, but since I lost my gun rights my neighborhood has become quite the target for vandals. Connection? YOU BET!!
