Regimental and US Cavalry Associations

I am plugging for all of my fellow troopers to join the Regimental Association and the US Cavalry Association. I am a life member of both. These organizations are probably the only organizations that really work to promote the standards, history and future of the US Cavalry. Join the Cavalry mem!

Thanks Bill. Did you know the VFW was an off-shoot of our Regimental Association? We were the first veterans association, started in 1899 by our Spanish-American war veterans, but only 2nd Cavalry vets could join. It inspired other vets to start the VFW a few years later.

There is a BIG difference between the two Associations, Matthew. The link you provided is for the US Cavalry Association, which covers ALL Cavalry. The link I provided is strictly for the 2d Cavalry Association, covering only the 2nd Cavalry and all its incarnations (2d Cavalry Group; 2d Constabulary Regiment; 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment; 2d Cavalry Regiment Light; 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment).

I know, but the topic was for both, and since someone asked and you provided the one, I'd figured i'll post the other. I'm all for promoting 2nd Cav, but I'm also for keeping the spirit of the cav alive too as we all should be.
