Hey Warren - welcome, Long time eh? My first tour in 2d Sqdn 66-68 it was Danner tanker boots for all - still a lot of those around in the mid-70s as well. But yeah, I had my German jump boots and buck knife too. - I was there before Pete and they werealready pretty common, so think he just picked up on something already started . . . he does get credit for the knife I guess. My son still carries the knife.

None other. He had just left C Troop when I signed into 1st Sqdn. Shortly after arrival I was advised that I needed to get German jump boots and make the trip to the Graf Rod&Gun club for a 3 1/2" Buck folding hunter. That was what real Cav officers carried. Still have my Buck and used it hunting this weekend.
