Amen Bro:

Everyone thinks that it's all about looking good in your uniforms!!! If we showed up in pressed BDU's and spit shined boots we had to low crawl accross the parade field untill we couldn't be seen!!! YOU only show up one time PREPPED!!! It got to the point that when new officers came in they briefed them that "WE" ONLY answered to CSM NESTER!!!! When we were sent on missions we couldn"t come home and talk about them. My wife even went to LT. Vetreise and demanded to know where I was. I told her before she ever came to Germany that I had already been to Panama and things were about to get worse, but she had to come over anyway. I could go on but I won't.

It's a serious thing to witness the amount of damage a trooper can incur in a relatively short period of time. The head problems are as bad as any physical disability. I deal with both. Hang in there men.

Hello, fellow " troopers " I was assigned to HQ Trp, 3/2 ACR from Jan. 68 through Jul. 1969. I worked in the Head Shed and , as a 71H20 ( Personnel records Spec. ) and , sorry to say, the only excitement I ever saw was when one our SP 155's BLEW UP in the Vehicle Park. As " Cold Warriors " we always maintained full battle load in the Tracks at all times. One of the SP 155's had an electrical fire, the crewmen evacuated the area, and the rounds cooked off. Not much left after that, just a hole in the ground. Oh, another bit of excitement was when the RUSSIANS INVADED CZECHOSLOVAKIA to overthrow the Reformer, Dubcheck. I Trp. and K Trp. were on the wire at the time and we thought that the Balloon would go up. That was close ! Anyone from the 60's out there ? Spec. 5 James Burgos

Does anyone remember the fire in a trailer on the parade field during the fest on post in May 1984.The trailer belonged to one of the carny workers. Now its time to brag .LOL. Myself and a few others received a Letter of Appreciation from LTC DAVID O. BIRD for our exemplary efforts and swift act of courage.

Thanks guys!!! I have been messed up both psychologically and physically
since I got home from the ARMY!! My ex-wife left me and took almost everything from the last 20 years. My children (my oldest was born on 18JAN91) won't speak to me when their mother or her family is around, and she is always trying to screw up my pension and S.S. payments. She has destroyed most of my momentos ,photos, and anything that has do do with the military. I go to the VA here in Indy several times a month and they have taken pretty good care of me. Thanks for the words of inspiration and "Always" be ready.

Mike, hang in there. There are alot of organizations out there that are or have good commarades as we had in the service. I am totally disabled and in a wheel chair for the rest of my life, but their are many that come to help. VA has taken good care of me and I have met some fine people, there in the different units. PVA, Legion and VFW's. Keep going upward, don't let anything get you down. Wayne

That was a cool fest, and that German rock band was pretty good. I actually have a few polaroids from the fest LOL.
