I am very proud of my service time.. Not only of my time with the Cav.. but my 2 tours with the 101st and a second tour to Germany as well. God bless all who served, then and now.
I SPENT FIVE TOURS OVER IN EUROPE AND TRAVELED FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER, PLUS MANAGED TO VISIT ALL THE JOINING COUNTRIES EXCEPT FOR OUR BORDER PATROL COUNTRIES. LOVED IT DOWN IN BAVARIAN ALP, WITH SWITZERLAND AND AUSTRIA. I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK ...

I see that the place and date have changed.. I still plan on going.. and Fort Knox is a nice change.. heck.. with a standard issue tool box, I might even fix something while I'm there.. :)
Hi Dave..
Must have been great.. I often think about the guys we served with.. and have tried to locate them. I've only recently spoken to 2 of them.
Captain Gaudet was a great troop commander.. and LTC Getgood helped me out of a jam on more than...
Tell us a little about your cav days and some of your buddies!
I'm sure we all have about the same stories to tell.. the famous fights at Graf.. (the place is probably still off limits). The long, cold days and nights on the range and the partys at Hof, and Coburg. Many, many trips to a club in Lichtenfels.
Tell us a little about you now.
After the Cav.. I had another 3 year tour in Germany and a couple of tours with the 101st in Kentucky and college after that. Upon graduating, I worked as a teacher in a middle school. In 1989 I joined the PD, where I just celebrated my 20th year in January.
name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find you!
James Mursell from Pompano Beach, Steve Rambo from Philly, Tomas Velez from NY and Edgar Pagan from PR.
Great and please do take good care of yourself. I will do my best to go to Ft Knox.

WOW!!
Time fly, yes I was with A-18-5 later A-18-4 1st Plt. SFC Brown retired as a CSM and I last spoke in person with him in 1990 at Ft Knox Armor Conference; SSG Collier, I lost contact after 1977, but his assistant SGT Walter Young and I remain in contact to this day. Walter retired as E-6 and leave in Campbellville KY, several years back he lost both legs to diabetes, but he remain in good spirit. I myself retired in 1993 as a MSG/E8. Nice to hear from you and trust that you are doing well.
Yes Bob, I was a DI at Ft. Knox during the 1976-79 time period. Did you served at Ft. Knox at that time too and what unit? Thank you for your welcome message. Look forward to your response.

Toujours Pret Bob,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or myself, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks Again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
