It was in the same place as on the M-14----and served the same purpose. I had a chance to play with the 14 too. But I prefered the M-1 It seemed to be much more reliable. Just my opinion.

Sir, Welcome back to B Troop. I see that I was there only a few years after you. When I arrived to the Troop in Dec. '71 Bill Barry was the C.O. until the end of the year. Hope to get to know you better in the future. Mike, B-17

yea, the half track was still there. There was a trooper who posted the best pictures of the Rock in the late 60s early 70s on the Cav Website we had on MSN, but he hasn't signed up on this one. He went by the surname "Beck". I'll look for his old emails and I'll get you his name. I need to talk to him cause I downloaded his pictures and I want to upload them to this website.

As a 15 year old kid, my best friend and I made models of WWII Planes and tanks. It was an experience to touch that one (M-24). I had to send a picture home. Of course after a while you get used to all of that stuff.
I was there from 71 thru 72.

Haha, maybe you are right. I've tried to entice at least one more to sign onto Dragoon Base, but can't find much interest. I don't know about you, but commanding B Troop was probably the best job I've ever had.

Jack Miller was my PAO when I went back as SCO. What a great bunch of guys were there during both tours in the Regiment.

What make of boat do you have? I've got an Island Packet 27 on a lake in Illinois. We brought it from the Chesepeake when we move to St. Louis 8 year's ago. We are going back there this summer and retiring. Sailing is still fun here, but not what I'm used to!!

Bruce, That's me, we were getting ready for an Ig Inspection, and the supply room was short sheets/pillow cases. I went to wurzburg down the hill from Leighton Barracks was a Kaserne I think it was Falkenhurst (we use to take our laundry there when I was stationed in Bamberg, CSC, 1st BG, 15th Inf as a Scout from 1960-1963 when we reorganized under ROAD),anyway I knew a few of the Germans who worked there as we (my old unit) use to bribe them with #10 cans of coffee to clear up our shortages. The bottom line was they made up our shortages with hospital sheets/pillow cases all Pink in color. You liked to Sh.. but we we passed the inspection. Every IG after that I always use to chuckle, Scout's out. Top Miller

Bruce, 1968-1969, as Scout Section Leader, I beleive it was in the 2nd PLt with 2LT Denny Kaiser, I was promoted to E-7 and to C Troop as a Platoon Sergeant. If I remember right Vance Austin was the First Sergeant, SFC Lyons was one of the Platoon Sergeants. Was a long time ago, but many good memories.
