I've answered this question 3 times, and each time I erase my answer. I guess I'm having trouble understanding the question.

I remember in the early 70's there was talk about having white berets for the MP's. Wouldn't that have been a target for the average GI to "soil"!!

When I was in the MP's in Neu Ulm 1973 we did that to an M151A1 1/4 ton one night chasing rabbits in the fog at the Rod & Gun Club. All we got out of it was a chewing out and a brand new A2 that was much faster. We never took it out chasing rabbit...

I am trully sad that Tony Brinkley passed away, he was one of the best Squadron Co. that I had ever served with and for during my career. He loved his troopers and was extremly Gun-Ho and tactically sound. I was able to talk with him at any time on and off the record. I should miss him. God Bless Col. Anthony Brinkley.
Thank you Dave.

Mr. Gettman: I am not familiar with the Gyroscope program, per se. When your father was the motor officer in Bindlach, was he in the 2nd Cav or the 3rd Cav (Brave Rifles)? I had a minor brush with the MO when I first got to my assignment. I was originally in HOW Company at Ft. Meade, MD. However, after a drag racing incident in the motor pool, I was transferred to B Company. I do not remember if my jeep won, but I do remember when the motor officer stepped out into our path and ended the race. I told the fellow I was racing not to worry about a thing. While the old man was presenting us with our Article 15s, I passed out cold. Make it a good day.

Mr. Gettman: I am sorry to learn that you have been under the weather. That can be pretty rough at any age. I was so happy to receive your answer at last. I do not know why I feel so abandoned so quickly, but I have always been sensitive to that. So sensitive, that I always respond to everyone els as soon as I see they need me. Perhaps because of that I notice when I do not get the same treatment. Of course, that does not make the other fellow the bad guy. It was your information regarding my need to press "Save" that saved the day, and was the holdup on my own success. As it is not in sight, I never though to go looking for it. That is probably why Ross lost interest in me, because I appeared too obtuse to help. Thank you for providing complete instructions. By-the-way, I read the paper about ". . . horse," but the fellow used the "F" word in part of it and I have gone way past needing that in my vocabulary. In private it may have been okay, but out here I would think one would choose "G" rated words. He seemed to have reacted inappropriately anyway, but that is just an after the fact opinion. There is certainly a need for those anecdotes so try to encourage their use. Thanks again.

Mr. Gettman: Thank you for noticing. I think it has pretty much been restored at this writing. I was concerned that I had worn out my welcome as some of my contacts had stopped writing abruptly. Also my attempts at changing my profile photograph remain in vain. When I reported my problem to the fellow named Robb, he tried to help me a couple of times. When his suggestions were not working for me and I persisted in requesting help. he too abruptly stopped writing. In light of all that, I felt I was requesting too much and it would be better if I cleared out my information and just disappeared. However, I missed it so much that I sneaked back in and restored a lot of what I had. The profile photograph is still unchanged and I am not happy about that. Do you think I am asking too much? I did not mean to be a problem for the site. Please advise. Thank you.

Dave, Seems like lately I'm the messenger for fallen comrades. Today, unfortunately I have two more who are now in Fiddler's Green:

Former B Troop Commaner, CPT Joseph Zuban passed away on 18 October 2009 at the age of 90. Joe served from 1940 to 1961, he received a battle field commission during the Korean War. He is survived by wife of 54 years, Anneliese; they had no childern. He will be buried per his wish in Arlington National Cemetary on 30 November 2009.

Former C Troop First Sergeant and retired Sergeant Major Leroy "Lee" Olivarez. I received this information from former HHT, 1/2 ACR First Sargeant Otto Zenker per telehone on Sunday. I believe he was last residing in Kileen, Texas.

Dave please post this for me and let Ned know about Lee Olivarez, I beleive at one point they were both in the S-3 Shop. Thanks, Top Miller

Thanks Dave. I guess I'm surprised to hear from a Charlie alum so quickly. Was SFC Irvin Lyon still there? I don't know about you, but I learned so much in that 1 year and experiences that have served me so well ever since.
