I apoligize for the long delay in my response. It has definitely been a long time since the Amberg. Alot of water under the bridge. After I left Amberg I hung around Ft. Knox for 4 years and became bored there, so after I DX'ed the wife I did 3 years in friedberg and then dropped out of the sky in South Carolina of all places, but better than Mississippi where the boys in the Pentagon wanted me to go. I decided that it was time not to move around any more and continued extending until I reached my retirement date of 24 years. My son, Mike Jr. joined in 2003 but was medically retired this year. I tried to get him to be a Scout but he joined the darn Chemical Corp, well I guess it's better than being a da$n Jarhead.
Hey, I hear that you made conract with Larry Adams. Do you have contact info? Please send it if you do and tell him to join this site. I miss the days I had in the "Mighty" Toujers Pret.
I'm sorry to hear that. He was a good guy; he had a wife kids too. Was I right about him being from the Houston area? This is horrible. I'll definetly pray for his family.
Hey Dave, I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I guess I missed this thread. Yes, Robert Miller was a black guy. I think he said he was from Houston or somewhere in Texas. We were both drivers during the war. I don't suppose you have contact info for him?
I don't remember if the Go In had a hip hop side to it or not. I certainly would have been in the rock side which was always very crowded. The dance floor was always packed with people rocking out. I think there was an upstairs and a small restaraunt on one side. It was by far my fav club in Germany.
The Go In was on the outskirts of somewhere, maybe Swandorf, but I never took the train there. It was an awesome place to rock out and have a great time. I probably saw you there back in the day! Thanks for sharing your pictures; I remember the ceremony in the markplatz after we got back. I wish I had taken more photos back then. take care,
Teddy C

I know about the good ole boy system, I lost out on my E7, so that is when I took my retirement. Where is the 11th located at now? Maybe here in the near future you can wind that old Harley up. How much longer in school? You take care, my best wishes go with you.
re you getting any use of that cycle, must be nice weather there in El Paso. Just wanted to say hello and see how you are doing. Best Wishes................Wayne
Hey, life is still going here. After the Mustang team, then COBs then Warhogs, I left for a little while and got to 1/4 Cav, but left when they transformed to Airborne. Had back surgery when I was leaving here and my days at 1/4 were numbered then. But managed to get back to JMRC and line up a good retirement job. JMRC is still going, big change in focus and training approach now. Things are still going good. We will be headed to Bragg for an ETC soon. Army is smaller over here by a few more, but some shift in footprint made Graf bigger. At least in number of soldiers. Training at GTA is still week compared to the 80s and earlier work load. AAFES is non existent in the Bavaria area, they go where we go right? Still go up to Amberg a lot with the Frau's family. But avoid the Pond barracks AO, it is sad to see what is left now. They made a huge deal about the 2nd Cav coming back, but it is not Cav, it is an infantry unit with that mentality holding a Cav name. Same with 1/4 becoming 1/91, it is an Infantry unit. No respect for Stetsons or Spurs, no traditions. Talk to you later.
Still cool here, I haven't been outside, looks nice but my wife says it is cold, but she hates cold nasty weather. She went out to feed the birds an she said it was cold. I'll take her word for it, when I'm cold my hands tighten up on me. My sensor's don't work to well since I had my spinal core accident.
