Hi Steve, glad you are going to join the " Old Timers" group. You and I are the only two who served in '68 and '69 so far. Yes, I do remember Lt. Holder! On the 2nd Cavalry Assoc. website there is someone named Holder. Could it be he??? In the " Amberg" site there is a discussion going on about Mohl Kaserne. Was it Wermacht of Waffen SS in WW II? I don't remember.
Hello again Steve, I strongly recommend that you join the " Old Timers " group! Members are E-mailed whenever there is a new posting. This happens DAILY! Command Sgt. Major Tommy Nester was there after we left but he lives only about two hours away from me and I would like to meet him. Oh, one more name for you : SP 5 Ufkes ( the old man ) who came to us after he rotated out of Vietnam. Hope to see you on " Old Timers ". Weren't you levied out to the Nam? James
Hi Dr. Steve, sorry but I don't remember you either. You know how it was, Troop clerks came to us, not the other way around. Glad that ONE of made it big, Herr Doctor. Was Griffith a thin redhead with glasses? Here is the roster as I recall: Olin Wenrick, John Taylor, Roy Pirrung, Dave Cowden, " redhead- " Terry ( Rhode Island), myself, Jack Tarvin, Jacinto ( Pancho ) Saucedo, and Benny Halliburton. I lived off post and did not live in the Troop Bldg.. It's been 40 years. Anyway, greetings. Have you joined the " Old Timers" group ? Lots of us old farts around but most not as old! Toujours Pret.

Toujours Pret Steve,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do. Tags also work great for searching).
And please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley

I left Amberg in 1964. Had many friends in K Troop. If you go to my pictures you'll see some from there.
