Good to hear from you. I played tuba in the band for about 9 mos. I was already in RHHT. We went out in the sqdns and screened personnel files for talent.

I was a member when we got the dragoon uniforms. LTC Beaty was XO and loved the band. Life was good. We did a lot of Volksfests. When LTC Beaty was sent to England to command the 13th ASA Field Station he flew us over and we did several parades, etc in Yorkshire.
A yearbook was published in 1961 or 62, which had a lot of pictures of us. I've lost most of my old stuff in my many PCS's.

Toujours Pret George,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or myself, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks Again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley

Hey George - Doing great. I did a search of 2nd acr band and found the name "Gene Jennings". He's teaching guitar and I sent him an email. Hopefully he will respond. Do you remember Gene?

Well very cool George, we went to basic together, I still have that book so I will look at it tonight. Two friends of mine from Knox were also in K Troop with you. Walters and Williamson, also William Lee was with us also (he was in L Troop). If you dont have the Knox book still I was thinking of scanning it soon and adding it here...

I made you a group called The band no telling how many former band members you will end up with. Sounds like a great tour you had mine was full of gunnery's, border camps, alerts etc. But I liked it and learned a lot.
