yes but it was the grenz & it was under surveillance by botgh sides the only ufo I ever saw was the bunnies on the border in attenuated moon light, we could see flashing bolts of light in the cavnavs but couldn't figure out the deal until we stopp...
Many of us experienced a unique part of history patrolling the East German & Czechoslovakian Borders during the Cold war. Share those stories here with those who served on the border.
oh it'd be fun I'm thinking of going to the last Armor conference at Fort Knox as they are standing down of Fort Knox & the Armor school, it'll be the same time
Tell us a little about your cav days and some of your buddies!
Well in those days we mostly did Border patrol on the Czech border with bgs & other German unit. when we weren't on the Grenz we were in Graff, when we weren't in either of the other two we were in Hohenfelds or at capstone, then every 6 months or so we'd park over night at this place called Amberg then bang we'd hit rail head & blow out to the border for another 45 day tour.
Tell us a little about you now.
I'm a computer Geek, supporting jarheads & squids

Toujours Pret Lonnie,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie, Officers Club, F-Trp., Amberg, Medics, etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
