Sounds good to me. They used a lot of those in Korea and I hear tell one might still show up in a third world country from time to time.
I've always thought the tank was an M4A3E8.
Sorry, can't say that I do. That's one of the things that I've never collected from any of the units I was in. At the time it didn't seem cost effective.
They also used the M4 chassis to create the M10, an open turret tank destroyer with a 90mm gun, but this one looks like a closed turret.

I was in L Trp the same time. I got there in June of 86 and left Feb 88. I was a scout in 3rd Plt. SFC Gonzalez was my Plt Sgt. I remember moving from the barracks across the parade field to the one in your picture--everything including our ...
Looks like an M4A3 (possibly an E-8) with the 76mm gun.
Up-gunned M-4? Sure not the standard 75mm.
The old mess hall,now a German restaurant! Was at Pond Barracks 69-71.Visited in 2001&2002,still a great little town.

Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos,links,ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
