Tony was such an easy going guy, I was stunned to learn from his obit he was awarded the Silver Star in Vietnam. I only knew him from talking on the computer, but in that short time I grew to like and respect him very much. He is missed.

Hi Rafael,
Yes, unfortunately it is true. Tony Brinkley passed away sometime in 2007. I used to have his obituary posted on another website, but the site is gone and I've lost the obituary.
I'm sorry I can't remember any of the details. He told me he contracted encephalitis in 2000 and had to learn to talk and everything all over again. The last e-mail I got from him was Dec 2006 and he wasn't doing very well, but like the trooper he was, he was still doing.
Couple guys on this site knew him very well, if you can get a rise out of them. Try Dave Maddox or Tom Molino. They may have more details.
I did see the message and think it would be a great idea; however, I can't commit as yet. I'm keeping the option open.
As for getting together for lunch or dinner. I'm for that as well. I should let you know that currently I'm on baby watch. My wife (my third and for me my last) is due with our first child. This will be the first child for both of us and we are excited to see ehe least.
Hi Rafael! Glad to hear you finally joined the site. As you can see, I have not visited for over a month. I still have some old photos from my days a the Rock that I need to have digitized and placed here. I ran into Mark Marshall a few weeks ago and gave him some tips on the best ways to recover from divorce. I should know, I've been divorced twice. :)
Glad to hear that all is well.. I stayed in for 7 years.. spending about 5 of those in Germany.. I'm about 4 years away from retirement as a police officer.. in Massachusetts. If you make it down to Knox in May.. it would be great to get to catch up with some old friends..
I was a recruit.. and you, along with Sgt Brown and Sgt Collyer (maybe off on spelling) were my DI's. in 76. Really good to hear from you.. Are you attending the reunion at Knox next year..?

As for the Mrs., I will soon be commenting on that on the Dragoon blog dedicated to that subject (German Ex's).
