Tell us a little about your cav days and some of your buddies!
My first assignment when I got to Amberg was on loan to L Troop until gunnery was over. I was trained as a loader and spent nearly 60 days in country trying to figure out how a medic became a Tanker.

I remember being on Range 790 on Graf and meeting the Medic Platoon Sergeant asking him why I never was assigned and it turned out I was hidden until gunnery was over. I had the best time of my life and got to know a lot of the platoon including Cpl's Big and Lil Willy and came back to them for Reforger 77.

I spent most of my tour at Camps Rotz and Camp May as a border medic and on patrol .I did do time at the rear in between the camps.I had a great time even though it seemed like I stayed on alert and always ready to roll off into hell.

The Cav was a tough learning assignment back then, every unit after that was a lot easier and I have the Cav experience to thank for getting ready to be a NCO. I never knew how much I loved it until it was all over. Maybe someday I can meet back up with all of you at Fiddler's Green.

Tell us a little about you now.
I made SFC in the Chemical Corps and ended up getting caught up in the early out RIFs of the early 90's.

I did time with 1st Armored Division, taught SERE and NBC to pilots at Ft Rucker, taught various topics on NBC at Chemical School at Ft McClellan and was the first Small Group Leader at the Chemical Corps NCO Academy for ANCOC. I finished my time at the Chem School as the deputy Curator and Historian at The Chemical Corps Museum and wrote alot the Chemical Corps History for the 1st Gulf war.

Today I am a nuisance wildlife specialist and basically handle problem wildlife conflicts for a living near Gainesville, Florida in a tiny town of 409 called Fort White, in Columbia County. I live out in the woods and it gets cold here and there are no beaches for 100 miles or more.

I am the father of four kids Robb III, 28, Wayne 17, Eddie 15 and Marie 13. My wife Caroline and I live with my two youngest boys here in North Florida and my daughter lives with her mom in New Port Richey, Florida.

My other web sites are http://www.anytimeanimalcontrol.com and http://gainesvillewildliferemoval.com.

I do web sites if any want wants to hire a old Cav vet in fact I made this one here too!I am pretty good with search engine optimization if you have a site that does not show up on search engines and need it too.

Mr. Russell: I continue to try this, but when I go to “Settings” I see my picture with a drop-down list box captioned as “Browse.” When I browse and select the photograph I want, it is named at the bottom. Then, when I press “Open” the whole window closes up and appears as if I had done nothing to attempt a change. I have tried it many times to no avail. On the other hand, it is only intuitive because I did not see any specific instructions for changing the photo. What do you advise?

Hey Robb.... thanks for letting a 7th Cav guy hang out with the 2nd ACR troopers. I know we have met a couple of times, but did not know of the Cav connection. I remember back in 2006 when I was running for Congress a man in his 50s came up to me on Main Street and said he was going to vote for me because I was CAV... he told me had seen a picture of me on a Sheridan and knew I was in the Cav. That had to have been you. If there were more Cav troopers in Sarasota I might have won that race!

I love the website... and I like your music, too! And the videos on Camp Gates are fascinating. Returning to Camp Gates is on my bucket list. Take care, Garry Owen, and Toujours Pret!
