Hey Todd,
There's a glimpse of part of the museum when it was at Ft Lewis towards the end of this slide show I threw together. Len Dyer is in the photo. Turn up the volume and enjoy!OLD SOLDIER

I should have spent more time at the museum when it was here at Ft Lewis. I only stopped by a couple times to drop off a bunch of artifacts I rescued from eBay. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've found on there.

I do know they had a Cold War display up and a Desert Shield/Storm display too. Don't remember what all was in them.

If they ever get the Reed Museum opened up again. It's been in storage in Vilseck since the Regiment left Ft Lewis in 2006 to go back to Germany. The curator ended up going to the Patton Museum and DoD won't authorize funds for a replacement at the Reed. Last I heard there was no building either.

Ingo and I almost bit the dust one night on a goround rad alt dig wear not nvg compatable so they were off and the needle was at about 50' in a 30 deg bank at about 80 knots. thought I was going to be picking sand out of my teeth if I lived :O. Guetz bounced of a sand dune during training one night. Oh what fun it was.

Toujours Pret Todd,
Welcome Sir, to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley

I can't remember his name but there was a SSgt in C trp.that sported a handlebar. He waxed and curled the ends so they didn't hang below the lip and got away with it. We all got away with stuff in the Cav back then. The beret, tankers jacket, German tankers boots, bloused jump boots, Cav. belt buckles! All unauthorized attire. Ahh. Those were the days.

Ya know Tod, that handlebar just might hang past the bottom lip,but regulation or nor, it dang sure says CAV!!!!!!! Custer looked like a sissy next to you. Welcome Brother!
