Do anyone remember this vehicle. We got these to replace jeeps at the border. They were always breaking down. Don't know how long they were in service there, but we prefered to take jeeps,

Hey Vearl,
I just picked up a 1964 yearbook. If you were there for the troop photo, I have it. I'm scanning the entire book and will put it on our history center when I'm done for everyone to see.

Hi Vearl,
I noticed you signed up for the group Honorary Dragoons.

Actually, this is a real group of troopers that dates back to 1952 when the Honorary Squadron was first established. You have to be inducted while you are serving in the Regiment, and your name is entered in a log book that is kept by the Regiment. Past logs that have been filled up are kept in the 2nd Cavalry's Reed Museum. It is a great honor to be inducted and not many troopers make it, including you and I and most of the guys here at Dragoon Base.

Hey Vearl, yes it's been a long time. Do you remember a Sgt. Shumate? He came to B troop from D troop and became our platoon Sgt. it was bad news from that day on. Anyway, good to hear from you. And yes I have logged alot of hours at our EM club.

Toujours Pret Vearl,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie, Officers Club, F-Trp., Amberg, Medics, etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
