Hi John, if you found him, tell him to get his ass on here. Your old platoon leader is here also, Warren Wagner? Take care. mk

That's probably where dad was with Co.F, 161st Inf, only the armory would have been fairly new then.

Well, I know the Honorary Squadron of Dragoon's is a very exclusive group. You should be very proud of being inducted.

The archived books are kept with the Reed Museum, and the current book is kept by the active regiment. There is a group here on Dragoon Base for members of the Honorary Squadron.

You are right John. That is Emond. The other guy was from 3rd plt I think. You will notice Emond was an E-2 in that pic. It was taken sometime in '73. I remember when he would get drunk, his eyes would go slightly crossed and he would call me Maaakel and want to put his arm around my shoulder. One time back at the Rock him and Dave McBee hung some other guy from our plt. out of their window by his ankles. Partly cause they were hammered and they were tired of listening to his bullshit. Someone called the MP's and they spent the nite down at sub-post in the drunk tank. I had to go down the next day with Top's jeep and driver and get their sorry asses out. How they avoided an Article 15 is beyond me. mike

Second floor corner room right over the 1SG's office. Stayed there my entire tour. Roommates over the years were Slim Cox, Tommy Shahan, Albrough, McKinney and Garmoe.

I,m not so sure about that. The gun had a round in the tube and wasn't elevated before moving out of the firing position per SOP. A horrible tragedy but very preventable. Never should have happened. The TC left a wife and two kids if I remember correctly. Damn. With the equipment we worked in and around it is astounding more Trooper weren't killed.

yeah, I remember that but I can't recall any names. Bad stuff. I do remember the TC of the track that accidentally fired was a black guy. E6 I think. We all knew he and the safety officer were royally screwed. I think both were court-marshaled but they were gone pretty quick.

Nope but with a couple of exceptions, all I remember is last names.
