Dave, I don't know whoto say thanks to for the article in the Thorobred on CSM Curtis Patton but pass on my thanks to whoever is responsible. Mr. Patton lives less than ten miles from where I live and I talked to him after reading the article and we are going to get together the early part of next week. He is still weak and going to dialisis but wants to get together. Thanks again for hookin up a couple of old Troopers
Still collectin'! My Dad had to postpone his Cocoa Beach trip this year, on his last day on vacation in Germany my brother tripped and fell down a flight of stairs and shattered his ankle. After dragging him thru 3 airports on 2 continents, he had 15 pins put in.
He got an infection and just lost the leg 6 in below the knee. He gets fitted next week up at Duke, I'll get him to go to the gym w/me and back to normal soon. Dad's still going down in the Fall after all the Tourons leave, so keep on drinking for the guys!
I received a reply from Ned we were going to look for members of our unit from 59-61, Company G & I Troop. Is the roster set up so that you can locate by organization and time periods. We would like to trace some of our members down, it has been 50 years, since we served together. Ned knows were a couple are, I am writting to him and getting theirs so I can contact them.
Dave, I sent Ned Devereaux a e-mail, hope he is still up and around, have not received a reply yet. Is there a membership roster for the 2nd Cav. Assn? is it on the net for members?
I have not even heard of him since I left there in the 6o's. He was talking about the field trips in1959 operation Side Track and Side Step. I did not make them I was with Nato, VII Corps Control Group as the Operation G-3 Specialist, Working with Gen. Bastion During Aug & Sep. I received a Ltr of App. from Him, I hate to say Cpt. Schweitzer, did not want to indorse it on to me. He and I did not see eye to eye. It burnt him but he did.
Hello Dave, Thanks on both accounts, I found Ned's address at the bottom of the article. We were together in Co G & I Troop when all the changes came about. Lt. Gen. Schweitzer Was our commander.
I have a copy on my computer. Thanks, I am going to put an e-mail to Ned.
Hello Dave, I was just reading one of the Cav. Newsletter, volume III, Issue 10, when was this one printed? page 6 - 10 was about members of my unit. When I was a Member of the Company G, before we be came Troop I, under Capt Schweitzer (Lt. Gen Schweitzer, later working in the Joint chiefs of Staff) How can I get in touch with Ned Devereaux, who wrote this article.
Hi Dave, I see the Parlez-Vous Luneville is one of your events. I was in 3rd Squadron L Troop from Nov 1987 to 1990. I went to Luneville with the Squadron or Regimental officers (can't remember which) as color guard for the annual ceremony. There were only 4 of us enlisted plus a bugler. The French treated us pretty well with the food and everything. We ate at what was like a "dining in". Walked out of there and my greens barely fit me. It was quite an interesting time. There was an older gentleman there who was one of the guys who held off the charge on the edge of town until the 2nd ACR was able to get there and help. He was ancient even back then. Just a little history.
Dave,
Thanks for the update and comment. Sorry to hear about Tony Brinkley and suspected something was up since I had keep up with him and his family through the years via Christmas cards and a personal visit a few years back. If you can provide any details of him and if you happen to have info in reaching back to his family I would appreciate it.

I left I Trp in APR of 02, I believe a list member named Michael Barton would have been still in I Troop in 2004
