Thanks Al. Maybe I'll give a yell when in the area. I have to care when I am traveling, Locked into this wheel chair, I am a quadraplegic, had a spinal core injury. I can go some places and others not.

Hello Al., I was browsing the photos and ran across the 37th Division Photo.
Iserved in CoD, 147th Inf Regt, 37 Inf Div., the 37th was my first unit in the Military from Ohio, 1947. Reading your profile, I see you stayed at Sill, I was in Post Honor Guard 1957 till I left for Fort Benning and OCS. I have an old couple from 1951 that are living in Lawton, if the are still around. I'm going to have to make a trip up there and see if the are there. I had made a trip to Sill about 7 years ago to see the post and the houses I had lived in before, still there. I'll have to make another trip.

Welcome to the DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of updated features, lots of sub-groups,(ie, Officers Club, F-Trp., Amberg, Medics, etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos,links,ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history, and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).

What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?

1985 - 1989 Although I was a Field Artilleryman, I found myself serving in both the 11th ACR and the 2nd ACR

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I remember walking Trace from the Base Camp Lee, BGS Patrols and Hohenfels. I remember 300+ days away from garrison and family and snow up to your armpits when we did aerial insertions.

Retired as First Sergeant in 92 at Fort Sill,OK. Stayed in Lawton as a City Employee until Sep 09. Forced to resign due to medical problems incurred in service.
