Yes sir, that was me. Yes I am still here working for the DOD here in Grafenwoehr. Graf has gotten bigger since our days. You can hardly recognize it from our time. Same cold ass weather. LOL. How have you been doing? Where are you these days? Get back soon !! Take care

LT. Cardillo, Hows's everything going ? Thiis is "ROB " from I Troop 3/2 ACR 3rd Herd. You replaced LT. Harriman as our PLT. Leader. I remember when we were on Troop Fight or Capstone or whatever it was, and SFC. Walsh went to pick you up. You even commanded my tank I 3/4 during a field problem.
LT Cardillo ! Whats going on ? This is "Rob" from 3rd Plt. I troop in Amberg. I remember when SFC. Walsh went to pick up when we on troop fight or capstone (whatever exercise it was !) I had a cold weather mask on my face when Sgt. Walsh introduced us. You actually commanded my tank , I-34 when I drove !!! Wow , been a long ,long time!!
We also found what was left of Pond Barracks. I had a former M Co trooper from the late 70's as my guide. Tried to get in the mess hall, but it was closed. Got a door slammed behind us at one of the remaining barracks by an old gal that wasn't too pleased with us poking around in the stairwell.
Since it had been over 30 years, Shannon couldn't remember where the barracks were so we had to track down a cab driver at the bahnhof who spoke enough English and was old enough to remember Pond Barracks.
Didn't have any trouble finding his favorite brewery, though! We had the whole place to ourselves that day, and enjoyed a delicious doppleboch that made the walk back to the car an adventure.
