It sure is.. Plan on hanging up my spurs for good in about 4 years..
I want to say it was 2008....he was a civilian already, living nearvFt Riley
The Angerer is where the 2d Cavalry Association had there 2008 Stable Call when the Regiment returned from it's final Iraq deployment, and where I was headquartered for my trip over. Bought a really nice porcelain stein with the Angerer on it when I was checking out from my room their, but I had to give it to a friend I'd promised a stein to because his (inferior stein) got broken in transport back to the States.
Bill, freak accident. He argued with his son, whonwent to his room...shot through the wall, and hit hit and killed him. Sad, i was in E Troop in 1980 when he was a 2LT, and knew him through him being promoted to CPT and jim being the Regimental Border Officer. I was at Camp Hof 1983 - 1985.

Bill,
I see you spent some time in Vilseck. 2d Cav has been home based there since late 2006. They were out here at Ft Lewis 2005-06 (I live in Tacoma). I visited them in Vilseck 2008 when they returned from their final Iraq deployment, and 2011 when they returned from their first Afghanistan deployment.
