I served in HWB 3rd Squadron stationed in Amberg; I also served in the 11th, and the 3rd CAV.

I was stationed Amberg Germany (2CAV) El Paso Tx (2rd CAV) Bad Kissgen Germany (11 CAV)

I was a fire support specialist also known as FO.

What was your rank/title?

I retired as CSM

What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?

1978-1981

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I patrolled the Czech border in some of the worst weather possible. When not on patrol we were at the border camp. We had the worst vehicles ever, they always broke down and left us in the mud. We wore berets with CAV flash and later changed to border caps. We painted our Vehicles checker board, one of the late General Wagners ideas.

I retired out of the Army after 25 years as a CSM. I work for the Army in California.
