Hey Carson...Happy Birthday Brother...have a great day...... "Toujours Pret" hows it goin?? hope all has been well for you.... take care......
Doin' OK, Carson. I'm lucky, I got the imported beer store about ten minutes away with over 800 kinds of beer from all over the world. I can get all the German bier I want/can afford.
Carson, I saw your comment to Krausse about writing poetry.
Couple years ago I bought a book of poems called WINONA - DAKOTA LEGEND, written in 1890 by Capt. Eli L. Huggins, 2d Cavalry, and autographed by the author.
In 1894, Capt. Huggins was awarded the Medal of Honor for actions April 1, 1880 at O'Fallon's Creek, Montana. He later went on to be the 12th Colonel of the 2d Cavalry Regiment, from 1901 to 1903.
When the 2d Cav came back from their Afghanistan deployment, Shannon Ryan and I were among a bunch of 2d Cavalry Association members who went over to welcome them home and see all the ceremonies.
One of them was a Regimental Change of Command on my birthday. I gave the book to the outgoing 75th commander, Col. Blackburn, to remember his time with the 2d Cavalry. It was sitting on his desk with one of these glasses when he got back from Afghanistan.
That is soo cool that you got into so many movies. Do you live in L.A.? Did you stay in the army? The picture of the little girl is my grandaughter. My son is a staff sergent in the Air force. He served 3 winters in Germany ,But it was the Air Force so he didn't quite get the taste of the yellow dust taht we grew a taste for if we like it or not.He loves his career and plans to stan in. He got a bit part in Ironman 2. He is stationed in L.A. they grab extras from his base all the time. I remember Roymour we use to weightlift at Rotz. When I first found this site, It had been so long since Ihad thought of Amberg that it blew my mind. You will probably get a lot of flashbacks here soon. Just kidding. It's good to see you doing well. And have you published anything?
Carson, It's good too see you here. I forgot my password and am just getting back on. I remember taking those runs at Rotz. Dude do you still run? You ran faster an farther than anybody I've ever known. I didn't take alot of pictures back then but I have a few. Did you ever do anything with your writtings?
howdy, Carson , thankyou for your service to our country,I am proud to have served in the same unit as you did lots of good memories of Amberg and this site has helped bring some back!!!! Time has faded some but here they are helped to come back ... I see you are from great sate of Colo. been there and really enjoyed it. See you were in Mco. concidered 60's an awsome tank... I was a turret mech. trained on 60's and also trained on 551's,, great times at 2nd Cav well "Toujous Pret" for now , take care friend....
This is a better picture of Shannon. Been drinking for hours, then got lost and drove all around the countryside until the wee hours of the morning trying to find the town I was staying in. Ended up crashing on the floor of his hotel room for the night.
