  David, would like to ask a favor of you, a friend of mine I have lost touch of was living in Louiville the last I heard from him he was a member of the VFW by the airport.  Could I impose on you to place a couple of calls to the post around the airport.  He was a service officer in the VFW, his name is JOHN C. SHEPARD.  He retired from Fort Knox, he was the Post Photo Chief,(Civilian) ran the post photo Lab , I worked for him as the Military Photo Chief.  I am not forsure if he is alive or not.  Would like to get in touch with him if possible.    Saw that you were from that area.  I served the 2nd from 59-61 and 62-64 in Amberg.

  Appreciate the comeback, Dave. It was worth a shot.

  Dad was the motors officer in Bindlach, but it was way before your time (1953-55). He was in 'Nam with the 4th Inf Div when you were at the Rock.

  Welcome to Dragoon Base David.

  Did you serve in any other units besides the 2d Cav? Was wondering if during your time as a track and wheeled vehicle mechanic you ran into a 5 foot tall MSG named Gettman. He was a T&WV mechanic/instructor from 1948-71.
