I do remember the Col. well! A buddy and I were taking a "field bath" on a sunny day at a field site saoped up from head to toe when the Col. walked by, we looked at each other and figured what do ya do? We snapped to attention, saluted and said "Always ready sir"! He returned the salute saying something about propper field hygene is good and continued walking shaking his head and chuckling. We never heard any thing about it so I guess he was ok with it too..............
