Welcome to Dragoon Base, Doug. We crossed paths ever so briefly in C Troop. I left in February 1975. I was Lt. Andy Stilley's driver. I know and still communicate with a few of the people on your list, including Tom Molino, Top Miller, and Jim Mitchell. Top Miller still lives near Bayreuth and has a birthday tomorrow, I think. Some of them are members here, too, but not active much anymore.

Are you a member of the 2d Cavalry Association? It was the first and is the oldest unit specific veteran's organization in the US, established in 1899 by the 2d Cavalry veterans of the war in Cuba. Life membership is absolutely free, all you have to do is visit the 2d Cavalry Association website and sign up. https://www.2dcavalryassociation.com/ We also have grand reunions every two years at different places related to the regiment's history. There is a reunion this April in Tennessee. Information is on the Association site. Again, welcome aboard. Toujours Pret!

Tell us a little about your cav days.

I was assigned from January to July 1975, but my tour was cut short when I was selected to attend the US Military Academy Preparatory School. Was commissioned as an armor officer in 1980. I later served in the 6th Cav at Ft. Knox 1981-82 and the 15th Cav at Ft. Knox from 1987 to 1989.

Tell us a little about you now.

Retired as an O6 in 2006, worked for the Marine Corps as a GS Civilian from 2006 to 2019, retired in 2019.
