Tell us a little about your cav days.
I was assigned from January to July 1975, but my tour was cut short when I was selected to attend the US Military Academy Preparatory School. Was commissioned as an armor officer in 1980. I later served in the 6th Cav at Ft. Knox 1981-82 and the 15th Cav at Ft. Knox from 1987 to 1989.

Retired as an O6 in 2006, worked for the Marine Corps as a GS Civilian from 2006 to 2019, retired in 2019.

Are you a member of the 2d Cavalry Association? It was the first and is the oldest unit specific veteran's organization in the US, established in 1899 by the 2d Cavalry veterans of the war in Cuba. Life membership is absolutely free, all you have to do is visit the 2d Cavalry Association website and sign up. https://www.2dcavalryassociation.com/ We also have grand reunions every two years at different places related to the regiment's history.
