Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos,links,ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do. Tags also work great for searching).
And please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Hey, Gary (aka 'Barney'),
Glad you joined the web site. I've also asked Ray Anderson and Gale Hikade (the bartender from the O Club) to join. Mike Waldron has already joined.

How are Holly and the kids doing? We moved to Asheville, NC, area to be near to our two oldest kids and their familys. We have had a lot of fun with them and the grand daughters. Our youngest and wife live in Steamboat Springs but will be moving to Boulder in July.

Forward Observer, Recon and Survey Officer, Fire Direction Officer, Battery Executive Officer, How Battery Commander, Assistant S-1.

What was your rank/title?

First Lieutenant

What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?

1973-1976

Tell us a little about your cav days.

It was a great group of guys and their wives. What a great place to start an Army career. We initially lived on the economy and then moved into quarters. The mission was challenging but the comraderie was fantastic. Our battery had a superb cadre of officers, NCOs and soldiers. The German people were very friendly especially as we got closer to the border during maneuvers.

Tell us a little about you now.

I retired from the Army in JUne 2003 after 30 years. I now work at the Missoula office of the Montana Department of Labor and Industry assisting Veterans find employment.
