I know that we partied like it was 1999. Always gone either doing border patrol or maneuvers. Only saw the home post about three months out of the year. Once I got transferred to the mechanic side I really enjoyed it. Good friends and good times..
Tell us a little about you now.
After I got out of the military I started driving trucks.I have driven all kinds of trucks, been to all 48 states, and Canada. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology, I am a peer to peer co-facilitator, which is where I found out I have PTSD and anxiety disorder. I am now disabled due to arthritis and stay home most of the time. I still do my peer work and go to church, but most of the time I stay home.

Hey I see you were at the rock about the same time I got there in October of 1977. there was also a incident that happened at grafwhor where a tank shoot another tank and killed all the ones in the tank that got shot, I'm trying to find out some information about the incident, do you recall the incident, if so I sure would like to find out more about it
Where did you see that on ATWS? They have their information incorrect, otherwise we would be able to join VFW.
The border wasn't a combat zone, and wasn't even classified hazardous duty although I would argue with the second part.
The invite was my pleasure. You're a brother of the trace.
Yeah, I've got PTSD and COPD, I'm ADD and OCD, and I'm Gettin' OLD. We adapt and survive, right brother? A counselor at American Lake VAH convinced me to file a PTSD claim. I'd been seeing him for awhile for depression and he clued me in on PTSD. Once I filed the claim (2002) I got it pretty quick. I just had to prove my case. Comments and photos from some members here at Dragoon Base that were in my troop, and e-mails from my former platoon leader helped immensely, but the main thing was, the final evaluator knew I was obviously screwed up.
Are you filing your claim on your own, or do you have a veteran's organization working on your behalf? I talked to the American Legion service officer one day when I was at the VA. Black lady, former sergeant major. Real pitbull of a gal. I almost broke and ran a couple times early in our talk, but when I mentioned my dad was also a retired sergeant major, I had that pitbull fightin' for me.
Soon as I got that first check I payed off my property taxes, because I was three months from loosing my house, and I joined the American Legion and 2d Cavalry Association for life.

Hi Glenn , you might have been my replacement. I was mech. in Atrp left in Sept. of 74. Welcome to the base.
Good to have you on the Base Glen. I was over in C Troop '75-79. Check out the "Groups" and have fun reconnecting with old buddies. Old Timers is by far the most active.
Hey Glen,
Glad to see you took me up on my offer. Kick off your boots/spurs and make yourself at home.
What month did you get to the Rock? We must have just missed each other. I was next door in C Troop (first barracks through the gate). I left in late February '75 while C Troop was at Camp Pitman.
