Tell us a little about your cav days.

I started out there as a SP4 in communications with Hq troop. After having been stationed at Ft Benning, Ga. for some months. I was training to take over the courier driver job in the 3rd squadron when the driver left the Army. I sometimes ran the switchboard in Hqtrs for the landline. I moved into the Unit Police when the unit was established and they were asking for volunteers. I became a shift leader under a Staff Sgt Young, who was from Louisanna. Later he was replaced by Staff Sgt Sanchez who was a decorated Vietnam vet. (Silver Star) one of my working associates was Dennis Webe. We were in charge of permanent guards around the kasserne.

Tell us a little about you now.

I am now nearing retirement in the civilian world. I have 4 children from two marriages. Three surviving and one deceased. All three live out of my area around the country. My youngest son is an electrician in the USAF. Stationed at Bolling AF base. I have a 1983 Camaro hot rod car that I only use in the summer for cruise car events. Over the years my job expertise was in industrial electrical aspects and I traveled to numerous places as a service engineer after having worked for the Steel industry in Buffalo, NY and working for the State of Massachusetts.
