Tell us a little about your cav days.
I served at the Pond Barracks Medical Dispensary in Medical Records as well as taking Vitals from patients, administering immunizations, drawing blood as needed for patient Dr appointments and I served as the Camp Medic at Camp May for several months where I was the first medical care giver the troops patrolling the Czech border. Of course, I also spent time in the field when the Squadron went to Grafenwohr.
Tell us a little about you now.
When I left 3/2 ACR, I reenlisted into the Information Systems and Technology career field. I spent time in Operations at the Pentagon, followed by the Military Personnel Center in Alexandria, VA. I attained the rank of SP6 while at MILPERCENT and then ETSed from the Army. After I got out, I read in the Army Times that I was selected for SFC. I was a little bummed about getting out when I saw that but a few months later I re-enlisted. But, as my luck would have it, prior service at the time did not have any avaiable openings in my area of interest and I had to come back in as a SP4. Nevermind, over the next few years I was able to get regular promotions and finally was promoted to SFC with about 13 or 14 years in. At 15 years in, I applied for and was successful in entering the ranks of Warrant Officer in the Signal Field. I retired as a commissioned CWO2 in 1989. Since then, I worked in the Software Quality Assurance arena with an Army contractor and later as a Senior Business Analyst with an Air Force contractor. I retired in 2013 after working in a Start-up company in various roles including Lead Generation, Recruiting, HR and part of the senior management team. My wife Joan and I are proud parents of 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls) who have provided us with 20 wonderful grandchildren..
Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.
Pat Bell, Joe Lancaster

John, welcome to the Dragoons. You and I missed each other by several years. I left in '64, having been medic at Camp Gates as well as Amberg. Please join us over in the Oldtimers group. Check my page. I have some photos from my time there. Also, look around at the other groups as there are many from our years there, although the ranks are thinning. If you need any help, give a shout.
