Hello Mark, you may not remember me but I got to the ROCK in 76,I was assigned to the mess hall with SFC. LACK, SFC. MARTIN. Their was a SP/4 BELL that also worked in the mess hall. Somehow I remember talking with you a lot. Stay well and safe.
Good morning Mark.
Hop you're still hanging around.
I was just wondering around and found this link last week and remember when we got to the rock.
I know when I left from Nurnburg went by train to Bayreuth and was put in the back of duce and half from train station to D Co. In dress greens , great first impression.
But I did enjoy most of my time there.

Hiya Mark, it's been a very long time since we spoke. A lot of water under the bridge. A lot to say and talk to you about. So feel free to call me anytime at (407)558-1246. Your brother in arms. Toujours Pret!!! Ed Adams.
Correction on the Air Force party....it was 1972 not 1974, September I think. Party was in Stuttgart. That picture of me was just before I left for the security detail.
I volunteered for the MP's fresh out of Sheridan training at Ft. Knox. They were going to split my best friend and I up after going through basic and two AIT's together, so we volunteered for the MP's to stay together. Sent us to 15th MP Bde HQ in Kaiserslautern for OJT training.
I was going to ask you where you were at with 2ID. Much of the division is out here at Ft. Lewis. One brigade, formed from the old 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment in 2006, was just inactivated.
My dad was on 2ID's rifle team in 1947 when they won the 9th Corps championship. He won the individual 9th Corps championship. He was with 2d ID when they left Ft. Lewis for Korea in July 1950, the first division to arrive there directly from the US when the war broke out. 2ID suffered over 5000 casualties the last five days of November 1950. Dad's best friend, MSGT Kouma, was awarded the MOH.
Dave Bird is on here. Not sure about the rest of the guys you mentioned.
I noticed you were in the MP's, too. I did a year and a half with the 385th MP Bn in Stuttgart, Neu Ulm, and Heilbronn before going to the 2d Cav, and got to be part of the security detail at the Air Force 25th birthday party in 1974.
Toujours Pret, Mark!
I see you got to D Company just before I left C Troop.
Do you know George Crump? He was D Co and HHT 1973-78, E-6, E-7, CWO1; TC, platoon sergeant, company and squadron motor sergeant, squadron maintenance tech. He tricked out the M-24 that used to sit at D Company's barracks.
Toujours Pret Mark
