Tell us a little about your cav days.
Our job was Border Operations at Camp Reed and Camp May. Our training on the border was to slow the Russion invasion through the Fulda Gap. I became a man serving with the 3/2 Cavalry and have lived my life based on the principles that were instilled upon me during that time. Was then and have always been standing "Always Ready"
Tell us a little about you now.
I am the owner of a training center that focuses on the Green Training Industry. I ave been working with veterans on creating sustainable employment in this fast growing industry. I travel the country and train men and women both veteran and civilian and love the impact it has on their lives. A year ago several of us from Mco came together in Bryson City North Carolina for our first reunion in 29 years. Each and every one of us are now and forever Cav brothers and are trying to continue to meet annually from this point on.

Mark, Found out about this website from a 2cav veteran that I ran into at my grandkids soccer game in Bangor Me. We served together in M Co. I was there from July 82-Dec 84. Started in HHT and was transferred to Mighty Mike after about 9 months. Worked in maintenance and trained in Vilseck for recovery operations and tank turret maintenance. I ended up operating old M-49 and spent a short time as its TC. Remember the trainings in Graf and Hohenfels well and also Camp Reed. Decided to get out in Dec of 84 so I did not go through the M-1 training but spent about the last six months as Capt. Burcham's driver. Got some great photos of the conversion though. I will get them on the site shortly. I did get some photos posted last Friday though. Will get some more this week. I only get on this site once or twice a week but I do have the ability to get email regularly on my I Phone. (ramartin1957@yahoo.com). Look forward to hearing from you. Rick (Sgt. Marty) Martin
Welcome Mark.
You may have just missed Sgt. Shannon Ryan. He left M Co in May 1980. He gave me a tour of what is left of Pond Barracks in July 2011, and we managed to find Camp Reed but we couldn't get in.
