You might want to change your dad's unit to HQ Troop, 2d Cavalry Group (Mechanized); and his years of service to 1943-45.
Stations to include: Ft. Jackson, SC, 1943-44; Camp Bewedly, England, 1944; and ETO (France, Luxembourg, Germany, Czechoslovakia) 1944-45.
