      Michael,
      Welcome to Dragoon Base.

I'm the one who is stirring up the "Warrior's Rage" craze around here. Excellent book. The Battle of 73 Easting was amazing enough, but now knowing of the battles you guys had to fight with the chain of command too makes it incredible. You can find the book here at Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Warriors-Rage-Great-Battle-Easting/dp/1591145058

Sgt Moller's loss was tragic enough, but I had no idea. We had a guy here several months ago that said he was the one who fired the round into Moller's Bradley. Not sure if he is still around. He was taking it pretty hard and I didn't know what to say to him.

I became familiar with the M114 At Ft. Lewis.I was a school trained Civilian Mechanic, so that 283 Chevy engine, was no challange. My one and only Challange was remembering to take my C-rat beans off the manifold. My Platoon went to Wildflecken for our yearly Qualification. We had a sheet set up between 2 2x4's and a second LT cameup and tod us that we had to move off the range.I said like Hell we will. It finally came down to a direc order. I had my second best gunner get up in the cupola. When hed had his helmet on, I asked him if he thought he could hit that 2x4 at the base as close to the ground as he could. He said Hell yeah no problem. I then explained to the Butter Bar, that we were locked and loaded, and we had to expend our Ammo before we came off line. Sgt Roger Natios and myself laid that sheet down on our first round, then we just kept shooting down range. Did you know that those barrels cost a lot of money. We turned ours red hot. Then we backed off of the firing line. The LT. said hey where did that Target go. we both looked at him and said "what Target. We laughed our butts off when we finished qualififications and laughed all the way back to our home base. I had a real close friend in the 123rd Maintence, and we never had to pay for those melted barrels. I have another story to tell the next time I get on line.

      ssgwillie,

PS, btw, I liked my m114 very much.
