Hoenfels training ctr in Feb. Cold cold cold! Camp Hof Border guard and the Air Force mess hall. Border Ops in Nurenberg. Just a lot of good times with a little bad thrown in to keep us humble.
Tell us a little about you now.
Sorry about using a current photo but I don't remember having cameras back then. Semi retired due to slow economy but learning to like it. The shack is paid for so no worries eh! Still married to wife I took leave home to marry. The CO (can't remember his name but wore a black patch over one eye) talked to me a half hour trying to talk me out of it. 38 years now. And he said it wouldn't last. 1 son 1 daughter in-law and 2 grandsons and a Boxer named Izzy Max. Fly fish when I get time and spend a good amount of time on the bike (Honda Shadow VT1100). Just living the dream.

Hey Ray, I have a friend on mewe.com that is looking for you. Steve Thiel. If you have any interest in checking it out, you can go to mewe.com. We have a 2ACR page their. Some people are leaving FB in the dust and this is a good alternative. Look for you there.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY
Wishing you many more, from all of us at DragoonBase!!!
I had the pleasure of visiting Rose Barracks in November 2008 when the Regiment came back from Iraq. We got a whole crapload of Czech's on post with a big column of US WW II vehicles (including 2 Harley's and a Weasel) they drove over from the Czech Republic/Pilsen Military Car Club to be part of the celebration. 2nd Cav set up an airplane hanger for them to sleep/party in for the weekend. It was a trip seeing them wandering all over post in their WW II US outfits. Man, those guys and gals sure know how to party!
When the Regiment was out here at Ft. Lewis for a short period before going back to Germany in 2006, I paid a couple visits to the museum. Len Dyer, the curator at the time, dug out the original book from 1952 and let me browse through it a little.
I read your comment about the Honorary Squadron of Dragoons.
There are several books actually. As they fill up, they go to the 2d Cavalry's Reed Museum. The Regiment maintains the current book in Vilseck.
