Tell us a little about your cav days.

My time with the 3d Squadron was challenging. I was 18 years old when I arrived in Amberg. There was an ecclectic blend of troopers in the Squadron; Vietnam vets, draftees and volunteers like myself. We made the mission work. We were a proud and colorful unit. When we were working we worked hard, and when we played we played hard. The unit motto "Toujours Pret" had nothing on us. We were always ready. When we would road trip into the field: the border, Graf, Hohenfels, Vilseck(sp), or Reforger it was inspirational when we mounted our M60s, 188s, 577s, 113s and wheeled vehicles and headed out. When the colors were unfurled and the battle streamers waving in the wind, there was not a prouder moment. The esprit de corps within the units and the Squadron was unrivaled anywhere.

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.

1LT Ronald Brehm, SGT Dave Klaussen, SP4 Jim Carpenter, SGT John Agular, SGT Billy Harlow
