I have CRS (can't remember shit) just too many things.. The first any trooper did was go to the EM Club the first night. Then try to get up the next morning...I remember walking down to Yettis and then on to Bindlach (i have a mug)! Then on to Bayreuth, and latter on to Munchberg where i think i was one of the first to discover. ( i brought one home) I remember being on a LP on the Czech border in relief of another unit. I remember the al;erts going of a few times then in Oct 62 when the alert siren went off NCO's ran through the barracks yelling take everything and we were throwing foot lockers out the second floor as tanks were sliding to a stop in between the barracks and then as they were loaded they screamed out the gate. While i was there i visited a lot of places.

Welcome to Dragoon Base, Rollin. Have you ever been a member here? Your name is very familiar for some reason. I'll bet there is somebody here you know.
There is a lot of history in Omaha with the 2d Cavalry. An awful lot of 2d Cavalry troopers were recruited there in the late 1860's and early 1870's, but that was way before even your time.
