Steve, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you back to B Troop.  Of the 38 members so far, only you, Bennett and myself are the only ones from 1st platoon from that era.  I hope  others will find their way to this site.  I found it by just screwing around one nite and googled 2nd CAV.  I see that you are still in Midland MI.  As I recall that was your hometown back in the day.  Same for me.  I am living in the same town that I grew up in.  Drop me a line sometime here or you can get my email by going to my page and clicking my email address in my bio.   Mike

BRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   It's about time you showed up.  There are dam few of us here who are from B Troop in the early 70's.  Currie is here.  Degen from 3rd plt just arrived about 2 weeks ago.  Rhett Bennett is here, but he doesn't come on much, whereas I check-in about every day.  Capt. Barry is also here, as is Lt. Atkins, Lt. Harpole, Lt. Godwin.  If you click on my name you will go to my page.  Once there scroll down the left side and click on " photos ". There you will find a few of yourself. You can join the B Troop group.  I started it 2 years ago. I had forgotten both Box and Bain.  I sent Currie a whole shitload of names from back in the day just to jog his memory.  Hope to hear from you soon.  Mike Kultgen

Happened July 25th while we were out in the field on some sort of war game exercise. I'm going back over in a couple weeks to "celebrate" the 37th anniversary of the explosion. I was REAL close to it when it blew up and got thrown over a small fence by the blast.

You can see all the pics of the aftermath here: DEATH OF C-15 (click on link).

Click on the photos to enlarge them.

Have you talked to Dan Currie since you've been here at Dragoon Base? He is lurking around here. This is his page: DAN CURRIE

Leave him a note, I'm sure he'd be glad to hear from you.

Welcome to Dragoon Base, Stephen. I was in C Troop 1974-75.

Were you still there in July '74 when C Troop blew up the Sheridan?

      Welcome home Trooper.
      The Dragoonbase.com, has
      plenty of updated features
(similar to MySpace), lots of sub-groups,
      (Officers Club,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc),
and links for “2nd Cavalry Assn.”
      News and History Centers.

Robb Russell has posted some tips for
      navigating the site(ie,photos,links,ect)
      in the Forum.

Please feel free to stop by and read the
      latest “Tacoma Dave's ‘Triva Quiz’”,
you can learn some 2nd Cav history,
and you could even, win a kool prize.

If you need any help, you may contact
Robb Russell, or any of the 5 admins listed
at the top of the page, or just yell out,
another member may be able to help you.

And our only wish is to,
      ‘Keep it clean’.
Use your real name and picture,
(pix from back in the day, work best
      for searching for Brothers),
      but any picture will do.

And that you please tell all your friends
about, where to find the DragoonBase.

Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base,
and for your Service and Dedication,
      to Our Great Country.
