Tell us a little about your cav days.
Was at camp Pitman 6 months at a time pulled Guard duty along the czech border (Camp Weiden) ,had a son born in furth in 68 lived off post in Amburg at 24 sebastan strasse.I see Pond Barricks are gone too in 1995 Remember the bars and the 5 mark annies and the giant rabbits,haha,A mark was a quarter back then,you could have a real good time for 20 Bucks. (At Weiden) Pulled gate guard there in a little glass shack many a night,when I wast shooting pool up in the rec area Had A great time and good memories

Hi Tom - Chief Crump here, I was with the first Sq. on the rock. But I do have a few pictures from Pond barracks I would like to share with you. the Germans definitely had a knack of building their Kaserne at the best looking locations. But we still have something in common I was a tank commander for many years before becoming a company motor Sgt.then 1st squadron motor Sgt. and then finally went for warrant officer. I believe that SGT Barton was there when I was there also 71-73. I think his first name was Bill or Billy. He helped get me promoted to spec 4 then later to E-5.
