Tell us a little about your cav days.
I was transferred to 2/2 ACR in Bamberg from A/1-1 CAV, 1st Armored Division in Katterbach when we returned from Desert Storm, and deactivated. I was orginally supposed to go to 3rd Squadron in Amberg; I had orders, and even spoke with the Squadron CSM who said I was going to Iron Troop, but at the last minute PERSCOM changed the plan, and I was assigned to 2nd Squadron, F-Troop initially, and when 2nd ACR was ordered to deactivate the SCO, and CSM pulled all NCOs from the line troops who had come from deactivated units, and put us in HHT to organize the 2nd Squadron's deactivation. Guess they thought we were experts at it or something. I left Bamberg in 1992 and went to the Scout Platoon of 2-70AR, 3rd ID in Erlangen for a year, and then deactivated with that unit. God, I hated the post Desert Storm Army in Germany, it was a Drawdown Frenzy.
Tell us a little about you now.
I rertired in 2004 due to a spinal injury after 22 years as a Cavalryman. I worked for the Raydon Corporation operating virtual reality combat simulators around the country for our troops. In 2009 I went to work for Calibre Systems Inc as the IED-Defeat Lane "Red Team" Lead at Camp Blanding, Florida managing the team that trained troops on all things CIED. In 2011 I became a Senior Program Analyst with Calibre, and now work from a home office supporting company efforts, and managing a government task order project in Hawaii.
