What unit(s) did you serve in with the 2d Cavalry?
I was never in the military. I a, actually a german girl from Amberg. I had some GI friends that I used to hang out with at the Melody and the Harmony as well as the Rock Cafe. When it got really late we would go to Mike's Beer Haus until 6 am. My best friend used to work at the rec center on post and we spent alot of time shooting pool there. Anyone remember the SCHWIMMBAD? or the KRAEUTERWIESE? It was much fun there in the summer!

How are you? I remember you and Uli, and Heinz from 1986 in Amberg...Pond Baracks. I couldn't believe I saw you on here. I was with the Military Police - Tenant, Dennis Slocumb, Rodney Rego, DeFranco, Thomas, Nathanial Laws, and other MPs from that time. I know you probably hear from a lot of us. Just wanted to say hello...

I was in Amberg from 86-88. I married Claudia Schaerl--divorced now, but she still lives near me here in NY. She lived in that neighborhood up by Melodies--Wagrain (sp?). Her brother's name is Dieter. I was in L Trp and hung with Phil Garcia, Jim Gumbleton, Stafford Stubbs, and Bud VanFleet. We used to start at the Rock Cafe and then head up to Melodies. Any of those names sound familiar? Who did you hang out with?

Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos,links,ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
