I bet that Post WWII Germany has things in common with Germany today as it trys to absorb >700,000 refugees.
Welcome to Dragoon Base, Martin.
Not many around here from the gyroscope era. My dad, with mom, brother and I in tow, left just before you got there. He was with 1st Squadron, up in Bindlach. 2nd Squadron was over in Bamburg, and 3rd Squadron down in Amberg. Regimental HQ was in Nuremberg. Instead of gyroscoping back to Ft. Meade with the 2d Cav, dad transferred to 7th Army HQ and stayed in Europe.
Tom Costine was with 3rd Cav when they gyroed over in '55, but he was 1st Squadron HQ in Bindlach. Haven't heard from him for about a year. I can give you the e-mail address he registered with if you want to try and contact him.
