      Morning Gordon,
Not sure if you're getting my e-mails. Did you see my photos from Bayreuth? Click on this link to go to the album BAYREUTH 1954-55

      Dave

I was too little to remember anything about Jerry running away. Just a few stories that mom told us.

I sent you an e-mail. My address is deddygetty1@comcast.net

I posted a whole album full of old Bayreuth photos on my page if you want to check them out. Heck, there might be some pictures of you in there!

Sorry to say Stan Sheridan passed away in 2001. He retired as a Major General. I have a copy of a story he wrote for the Thoroughbred newsletter in 1999, describing his time in the 2nd Cavalry.

We left Bayreuth in May 1955. Dad had several assignments with 7th Army during the rest of 1955 and part of 1956. Sept 1956 we were at Ft Banks, MA. Mom made him get out of the Army Oct 1957 and take her home to Washington. Soon as we got back, he went up to Seattle and enlisted as a M/Sgt. They finally kicked him out in Dec 1971 with 37 years active. He was a Sgt Maj when he retired, but they retired him as 1st Lt because of a battlefield commission from WW II. Broke his heart. I got that officially changed a few years ago. Sadly, dad passed away 20 years earlier in 1983.

And I sure hope you didn't miss this party. It was right across the street from our house at the Bayreuth Officer's Club. Isn't that Stan Sheridan in the beard standing next to my dad? I took a wild guess from the eyes.

      Toujours Pret Sir,
Welcome Gordon to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or myself, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks Again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
      Jesse Kelley
