I invite you to take a look at the Oldtimer's group. You might find a familiar name or two. There are several who would have been around during your time. And Dave wasn't kidding about nap time although he did make a feeble attempt at humor.

Pretty rare to find guys that were in the 2d Cav during my dad's time. He was in HHC, 1st Bn, Bindlach/Bayreuth from 1953-55. I spent my 1st birthday in Bayreuth and my 21st birthday on the border at Camp Pitman, Weiden, with C Troop.
There are a few more floating around here from the 50's, but they may be napping, ha ha.
