Hi SPC Phillips nice photo do you have any more you can post?.  1SG Dave Gray contacting you from Germany. I hope that you are doing well...sounds like it. Yesterday I stumbled upon this site and would love to contact as many D Co Dawgs or Dakotas as possible. Would really appreciate hearing from you. That train ride from hell was amazing. That was definately the lousiest weather and as a result the most dangerous railhead I ever saw. You guys did great getting it all loaded safely. Then you all got stranded in the woods on the tracks. I went to Camp Hof with the advance party after you guys pulled out. The next morning I went to the German Bahn and they could not tell me where you all were or when you might arrive. I was driving all over Germany trying to find you guys with some hot chow.

Sounds like it was a good time!  I haven't really seen anyone from the gang, I miss everyone though and those good times!!

Wow the wrecking crew! I haven't heard that in a while!! Glad to here from you and hope all is well. Birgitt and I are doing fine with three kids. I miss those days on the Rock. I left Bindlach in May 92 where there were only a handful left. I spent my last 6 months at Ft. Riley, where I ETS'ed and we moved back to Germany and lived there for about 5 years. We are now back home in Indiana. Didn't you live in Bad Reichenhall for a while? I went back to Bindlach a few times. It was turned over to the Germans and has been converted into a town. The motorpool was taken over by a large tire recycling company. Crazy!

      in the Forum.

Make sure to stop by and read the latest
“Tacoma Dave's ‘Triva Quiz’”,you can learn
some 2nd Cav history, and you could
      even, win a kool prize.

Tell us a little about your cav days.

The "Rock" Rocked and the "Crazy Elephant" was crazy, and the train ride to Berlin after "the Gulf" are some of the memories that are always present like it was yesterday. Along with the time the train got stuck in a Blizzard after we had loaded up after Gunnery and had to spend the night with no heat and wet coveralls while the Germans cleared the tracks so we could get to Hof.

Tell us a little about you now.

Currently I'm living in Dallas, working at Siemens Industry, and raising a future Cavalry Trooper
