      Sir,

Thanks for your service and for joining this great message board, my name is Ryan Meyer, I am the curator for the Reed Museum in Vilseck Germany, we are the 2d Cavalry's offical museum, back in your day we were known also as the Trophy room and were located in Nurnberg at the Headquarters for the Regiment.  I was wondering if your book on the incident is still in print, if not is would you be willing to donate a copy for our library?  It would be nice to have something to reference this event for future soldiers and researchers.  Thanks Ryan Meyer

Tell us a little about your cav days.

Amberg, I was the border commander the day those soldiers died. I was at Camp Reed and I have written a book about the whole day. If you want to know what happened it is a part of my memory that I will never forget. As for all the other comments, if you didn't work camp Reed that night or worked a foot patrol or didn't work there you have no idea what really happened. I was the border commander that night, and it was hell. I know every name, everything I did and what happened. I also was the one to identify the soldiers in the morg. I had to handle the congressional investigation. I remember having my entire team placed on house arrest by Lieutenant Colonel Bird that horrible night. I saw the camp logs confiscated. So if you really want to know what happened. I am the one who witnessed the entire event. I served in M Company as a platoon leader of Red Platoon, I worked as the M Company XO. I served as Col Bird's Squadron Border Officer, Then worked with Major Milne the Squadron XO as the S2. I saw the shrine the Germans put up to the soldiers in Philipsreut.

Tell us a little about you now.

I'm still married to the same lady now over 40 years I have 9 children two of which were born in Amberg at the local hospital. I have served in the Newspaper industry since I left the service in I985.
