HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Col. Voke,
Wayne Dixon wanted me to try and prod you into attending the 2d Cavalry Association reunion this coming April. Unfortunately, he is unable to attend himself but said you showed an interest.
Details of the reunion can be found on the right side of the page under 2017 2D CAVALRY ASSOCIATION REUNION. Just click on the heading for more details.
If you are interested, the early bird special ends January 31. After that, prices will increase. Any questions, feel free to give me a holler, sir.
Always Ready!
Col Voke, I left a message on 3rd Sqd, Amberg. Do you happen to remember when we sent a platoon of men to Bad Tolz to train with the 10th Special Forces. I still have Photos from there.
Col. Voke, If you ever have a chance, you might obtain a copy of "FORGOTTEN PEACEKEEPERS" "The story of the United states Constabulary in Germany" by JOHN CAPONE. The ISBN # 978-0-578-02800-2. A friend from the Constabulary wrote this book, I even made the acknowledgements, I did remember a little to help him, I was stationed in Sonthofen, Germany where the school was. I was there at ripe old age of 16, I had entered the Ohio National Guard at the age of 15 and used my discharge to enter the regular service, with direct assignment to the US Constabulary in Europe.
Col Voke, I was reading some of the comments. I am sure the Constabulary Assn. would love any items you might have for their Museum. I received a card yesterday from the National Commander, I was in the US Constabulary in 49 until 1951. We disband and sent to Combat units.

Col. Voke, as I remember 62-64 we had only one Mess by the main gate. The other they always told me was S4, Sqdn Hdg Was 1st floor of I Troop, I always was under the understanding. That is where you went to when you left I troop to become Border Officer. I departed in June of 64 for the states. Did you remember Lt Crittenden, where he went to. I thought he was the officer that took our group down to Bad Tolz to train with the 10th Special Forces. They made a lot of changes in Amberg, When I was there we did not have a bowling alley on the post.
