Just as an example, the other day I was searching for photos of cavalry monuments. Among the hundreds of photos I found was a photo of me on one website, standing in my living room in front of my dad's shadow box wearing my khaki uniform. Curious, I clicked on the link to the website trying to find out why my photo was there. Good thing I had virus protection, because it immediately caught several of them.
You can go to the front page of our site and see all of our groups. Would love to have you in the Oldtimers group.

I moved our conversation in the "Links" category over to the "Oldtimers" group. Please come join us over there. Wayne Dixon is also an Outpost member (#7) from the Constabulary.

This is the M551A1 Sheridan with all of its gear and ammo. They could shoot the Shillelagh infra-red guided rocket out of the main gun tube just like a conventional tank round. It carried 8 of these, each with 15 pounds of plastic explosive in the nose. The vehicle also carried 20 conventional 152mm rounds for the main gun. It was a very fast, highly maneuverable vehicle, could be dropped from an airplane, and could swim across calm bodies of water when the float skirt was erected. Just don't try firing the main gun...instant tracked submarine!
Sheridan Kaserne...I wonder if it was named for Phil Sheridan? There was a Lt. Stan Sheridan in the Regiment during the early 1950's. He and my dad were good friends. Stan retired Lieutenant General and passed away in 1999.
When I was in the 2d Cav 1974, I drove a vehicle called a Sheridan, M551A1 Armored Reconnaissance Airborne Assault Vehicle. 17 tons with a 152mm gun. BIG BANG!!
I see you know Vilseck. The Regiment is home based out of there now, but currently in Afghanistan.
Can't wait to hear some of your stories.
