      Good morning Herbert, Welcome to Dragoon Base the Cav Troopers home. I also trained at Ft Meade, basic training with the unit then to Ft. Chaffee for Artillery Trng. Was on the USS Rose also, stationed in Bamberg Feb 58 to March 60 Howitzer Co. right down the road from you, spent time at Coburg also. Our company Cmdr, Capt. John Smith, XO, 1st Lt. James Worthy, 1st Sgt, Msgt James Cook. CW Operator also. There is also a Harold Goldstien on here that was there with us. I'll be 77 in March so I'm a little younger, live in Hemet, Ca. 951-663-7997

    Main Base was in Bamberg. We did Recon out of Coburg.

    What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?

    1957-1959


    Tell us a little about your cav days.

    Trained at Fort George G. Meade Maryland. 2nd Cav in Feb.'58 was first unit of troops shipped out of Baltimore thru the Chesapeake Bay to Bremerhaven, Germany. On the way over on thr S.S. Maurice Rose, we were notified that the u.s.s.r. placed sputnik in orbit

    81 years old and retired from architectural metal fabrication business. Play the oldies but goodies(Sintra, Como etc, big bands-Ellington, Basie,Goodman, Miller etc, Brubeck, Shearing etc, all on the piano at Assisted living sites, anywhere a pianist is needed
