Tell us a little about your cav days.
I joined the Regiment in AUG of 2024, and was immediately assigned as the Squadron Executive Officer for the Field Artillery Squadron. In 2024, we had welcomed the 83rd Regimental Commander, COL Donald Neal, and were redefining our current mission, vision, and prioritization. We were rapidly adjusting to assist in defining how the Regiment would inform the Army's future operating concept to keep pace with the Russia - Ukraine War and key lessons learned from the conflict. During my time as XO, we experimented with rapid procurement of 3D printing materials, to include building the Regiment's largest production facility, housing 8x printers, 10x build spaces, over $10K in filament for printing, and CAD work spaces that would allow for innovative efforts to assist in defining the Regiments future. Other efforts we focused included, redesigning the "half-track" but in a mold that would fit a JLTV and trailer concept - a mountable cSUAS platform capable of lethally targeting sUSAS threats and protecting our most critical assets - our Dragoons. Coming into this Regiment, I was excited, but realistically unaware of what the Regiment was about, and what it meant to lead within. This first duty assigned to me unbeknownst to me at the time, was the greatest experience and pleasure I have had in my Army career thus far.
Tell us a little about you now.
I have currently transitioned to the Squadron Operations Officer for FAS and plan to lead as the Chief of Operations, the Squadron through Saber Junction 25, and beyond through the FY26 missions and operations. I anticipate serving within the Regiment through FY27 and am looking forward to seeing what great things we accomplish.
